MASTER FURRY • OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT RULES

Trading Tournament Official Terms, Rules & Prize Competition Policy

Complete rules governing Master Furry Trading Tournaments, simulated trading accounts, virtual funds, paid Entry and Re-Entry, rankings, fair play, competition integrity, technical events and Tournament Prizes.

EFFECTIVE DATE: 4 SEPTEMBER 2026
IMPORTANT — SIMULATED TRADING COMPETITION

Master Furry Trading Tournaments are skill-based simulated trading competitions. Participants make their own trading decisions using virtual Tournament Accounts.

No real-money trading takes place through a Tournament Account. Virtual balances, equity, margin, profits and losses are simulation values only. They cannot be withdrawn, redeemed, transferred or exchanged for money.

Entry and Re-Entry fees purchase participation in the relevant competition. They are not trading deposits, investment capital, client money or funds credited to the participant’s simulated account.

Real cash or product Prizes are completely separate from Virtual Funds and are awarded only according to the published Tournament Prize structure, these Rules and the verified Final Ranking.

1. Promoter & Tournament Operator

Master Furry Trading Tournaments are operated by Master Furry LTD.

In these Rules, “Master Furry”, “we”, “us”, “our” and “Promoter” mean Master Furry LTD.

2. Scope of These Rules

These Rules form the complete Tournament-specific terms governing participation in Master Furry Trading Tournaments.

They cover the competition itself, including Entry, Re-Entry, Virtual Funds, simulated trading, rankings, eligibility, Prizes, fair play, data processing, risk disclosures, technical incidents, refunds, complaints and Tournament administration.

Individual Tournaments may additionally display factual competition parameters such as Entry price, starting Virtual Funds, participant limits, start conditions, Prize structure and Re-Entry limits. Those displayed parameters form part of the rules of that particular Tournament.

3. Acceptance & Contract Formation

Before completing a paid Entry or Re-Entry, the participant may be required to expressly confirm acceptance of the applicable Tournament Rules.

By accepting the Rules and completing an Entry or Re-Entry, the participant agrees to comply with them.

Master Furry may record the participant account, Tournament, Entry type, Rules version, acceptance date/time and appropriate security information to establish which Rules were accepted.

4. Nature of the Competition

Master Furry Trading Tournaments are designed as skill-based simulated trading competitions.

Participants must exercise their own knowledge, judgement, market analysis, decision-making and risk management throughout the competition.

Relevant decisions may include:

  • which available market to trade;
  • whether to BUY or SELL;
  • when to enter;
  • when to exit;
  • position size;
  • use of stop-loss;
  • use of take-profit;
  • risk exposure;
  • management of available simulated margin;
  • whether to remain out of the market.

The Tournament winner is not selected by random draw. Ranking is determined from simulated trading performance under the competition rules.

Market prices themselves can move unpredictably. Master Furry does not control market direction and does not guarantee that any participant’s decisions will produce a favourable result.

5. Eligibility

Unless a particular Tournament expressly states otherwise:

  • participants must be aged 18 or over;
  • participants must hold a valid Master Furry account;
  • registration information must be accurate;
  • participants must enter using their own permitted account;
  • participation must be lawful in the participant’s jurisdiction;
  • participation is void where prohibited by applicable law;
  • any geographic restrictions displayed for the Tournament apply;
  • participants must satisfy all applicable Tournament conditions.

Master Furry may require reasonable evidence of identity, age, residence or eligibility before awarding a Prize.

A person who is legally prohibited from participating must not purchase an Entry or Re-Entry.

6. Master Furry Account Security

Participants are responsible for taking reasonable steps to keep their login credentials secure.

A Tournament Account must not be:

  • sold;
  • transferred;
  • shared with another trader;
  • operated on behalf of another participant;
  • used to impersonate another person.

Where unauthorised access is suspected, the participant should contact Master Furry promptly.

7. Tournament Entry

The Entry price applicable to a Tournament is displayed before purchase.

A paid Entry purchases one eligible participation attempt unless the Tournament expressly states otherwise.

Successful payment alone does not override eligibility, Tournament capacity or other applicable conditions.

The Tournament Account will be activated only after the platform has received appropriate confirmation of the qualifying payment.

8. Entry Fees Are Not Trading Capital

The Entry fee:

  • is a participation fee;
  • is not a trading deposit;
  • does not become part of the Virtual Funds;
  • is not invested by Master Furry on the participant’s behalf;
  • is not traded;
  • does not increase or decrease with simulated performance;
  • does not represent ownership of a Prize pool;
  • does not guarantee a Prize.
Example: paying a £10 Tournament Entry fee does not mean £10 is deposited into the simulated trading account. The Tournament’s published virtual starting balance is generated separately by the simulation system.

9. Payment Processing

Payments may be processed through an independent payment service provider.

Master Furry does not treat a browser success page or redirect alone as proof that a payment has been completed.

Paid participation is activated after appropriate payment confirmation has been received and validated by the platform.

Participants must not knowingly use stolen payment credentials, fraudulent payment information or otherwise attempt to obtain Tournament access without valid payment.

10. Re-Entry

Some Tournaments may allow Re-Entry after an account has been eliminated or disqualified.

The Tournament will state whether Re-Entry is permitted, the applicable Re-Entry fee and the maximum number of permitted Re-Entries.

A participant with an active eligible Tournament Account cannot use Re-Entry merely to obtain an additional simultaneous account unless expressly permitted.

A valid Re-Entry creates a new, separate simulated Tournament Account with the applicable starting Virtual Funds.

The balance and trading history of the previous attempt are not transferred to the new attempt.

Previous attempts remain preserved for competition integrity, statistics and audit purposes.

11. Virtual Tournament Account

Every qualifying Tournament attempt receives an isolated simulated account.

The starting balance is specified for the relevant Tournament. A Tournament may, for example, provide $10,000 in Virtual Funds.

Virtual $10,000 means exactly that — virtual.

Master Furry has not deposited $10,000 of real money with a broker, bank, exchange or custodian on behalf of the participant.

12. Virtual Funds Have No Cash Value

Virtual Funds:

  • are not real money;
  • are not client money;
  • are not a bank deposit;
  • are not a brokerage deposit;
  • are not an investment;
  • are not credit;
  • are not a loan;
  • are not cryptocurrency;
  • are not electronic money;
  • do not represent ownership of an underlying financial asset;
  • cannot be withdrawn;
  • cannot be redeemed;
  • cannot be transferred to a bank;
  • cannot be transferred to a brokerage account;
  • cannot be transferred between participants;
  • cannot be sold;
  • cannot be exchanged for cash;
  • cannot ordinarily be exchanged for goods or services.

If a participant grows a virtual $10,000 balance to virtual $15,000, the displayed $5,000 profit is simulated profit only.

The participant does not acquire a right to withdraw that $5,000.

13. No Real-Money Trading

All orders submitted through a Tournament Account are simulated.

No actual currency, metal, cryptocurrency, security, derivative or other financial instrument is purchased or sold on behalf of the participant merely because the participant submits a Tournament order.

Tournament positions exist within Master Furry’s competition simulation environment.

14. Master Furry Is Not Your Broker

For Tournament activity, Master Furry does not act as the participant’s:

  • broker;
  • dealer;
  • exchange;
  • custodian;
  • investment manager;
  • portfolio manager;
  • financial adviser.

Tournament Accounts should never be represented as live brokerage accounts.

15. Market Data

Master Furry uses genuine external market-data observations to support Tournament charts, prices and simulated execution.

Prices displayed on Master Furry may differ from prices displayed by a particular broker or other provider.

Differences may arise from:

  • different liquidity sources;
  • bid/ask spreads;
  • aggregation;
  • mark-ups;
  • routing;
  • latency;
  • timing;
  • decentralised foreign-exchange pricing;
  • differences between market-data providers.

The Tournament uses the market data available to its own server-side infrastructure for competition administration.

16. Simulated Execution

Tournament orders are validated and processed by Master Furry’s server-side simulation engine.

Execution may use available bid, ask, trade or other appropriate market observations according to the relevant instrument and platform logic.

A simulated fill does not mean that an identical live order would necessarily have executed at the same price, size or time.

17. Available Markets

The instruments available in a Tournament are those made available through the Tournament interface.

These may include supported foreign-exchange pairs, precious metals and supported digital-asset market data where available.

Availability may vary because of market-data coverage, market conditions or technical availability.

18. Trading Decisions

Participants make their own Tournament trading decisions.

Master Furry does not guarantee that any instrument, BUY/SELL direction, position size, stop-loss, take-profit or other decision will produce a favourable result.

Participants may choose not to enter a trade where they consider conditions unsuitable.

19. Position Size, Leverage & Margin

The Tournament may apply minimum and maximum position sizes and simulated leverage.

Margin calculations are part of the simulation and do not represent real credit being provided to the participant.

An order may be rejected where the simulated account does not have sufficient free margin under the Tournament rules.

20. Stop-Loss & Take-Profit

Where available, participants may use simulated stop-loss and take-profit levels.

These levels are processed according to the Tournament’s server-side execution logic and available market data.

The availability of simulated SL/TP functionality does not guarantee how a comparable order would execute in a live market.

21. Account Equity & Elimination

The Tournament may use an equity-based elimination rule.

Where the applicable rule provides that equity at or below zero results in elimination, the Tournament Account may be automatically locked once that condition is reached.

An eliminated account cannot continue trading unless an eligible Re-Entry creates a new Tournament Account.

22. Minimum Participants & Tournament Start

A Tournament may specify a minimum number of eligible participants required before it begins.

Where automatic start is enabled, the Tournament may start after the published minimum participation requirement has been satisfied.

Where permitted, an authorised Master Furry administrator may initiate the Tournament manually.

23. Maximum Capacity

A Tournament may also have a maximum participant capacity.

Once capacity has been reached, further original Entries may be unavailable.

Any different treatment of Re-Entry will be determined by the published Tournament configuration.

24. Competition Duration

The duration applicable to each Tournament will be displayed as part of its competition information.

Where a Tournament is configured as a 30-day Tournament, the competition is intended to run for 30 days from its official start, subject to the exceptional circumstances provisions below.

25. Leaderboard

Tournament rankings are calculated from server-authoritative competition records.

During an active Tournament, the leaderboard is provisional.

Positions can change as participants open and close trades and their simulated equity changes.

A provisional first-place position does not mean that the participant has already won first Prize.

26. Ranking Method

Unless a Tournament expressly specifies a different method, ranking is determined using the competition’s server-authoritative equity and performance records.

Where participants have equal ranking values, objective tie-breaking information may be used, including applicable profit/loss and qualifying account or Entry timestamps.

Client-side browser values do not override server-authoritative Tournament records.

27. Tournament Finalisation

When the Tournament reaches its official end, new simulated orders may be disabled.

Any remaining open simulated positions may be closed using available market observations according to the Tournament finalisation procedure.

The platform then calculates final account values and creates the Final Ranking.

28. Final Ranking

Only the verified Final Ranking is used to determine potential Prize entitlement.

Finalisation may include reasonable checks concerning:

  • account eligibility;
  • rule compliance;
  • payment validity;
  • duplicate or prohibited participation;
  • technical integrity;
  • manifest errors;
  • prohibited conduct.

29. Tournament Prizes

The Prize structure for each Tournament will be published before Entry.

Prizes may include:

  • cash awards;
  • Master Furry software or products;
  • another clearly identified reward.

The published Prize information should be read together with the placement to which each Prize applies.

30. Virtual Profit Is Not the Prize

Virtual trading profit and a Tournament Prize are completely different things.

Example:

A participant finishes with $14,500 simulated equity after starting with $10,000.

The $4,500 simulated gain is not withdrawable.

If that participant finishes in an eligible Prize position, the participant may instead receive the separate real Prize published for that placement.

31. Prize Verification

Before approving a Prize, Master Furry may reasonably verify:

  • the winner’s identity;
  • age;
  • residence or territorial eligibility where relevant;
  • the validity of the qualifying Entry;
  • payment status;
  • Tournament Account integrity;
  • compliance with these Rules;
  • the Final Ranking.

A provisional leaderboard position does not bypass Prize verification.

32. Cash Prizes

Cash Prizes are limited to the real amounts expressly published for the applicable Tournament.

Master Furry may request information reasonably required to deliver the Prize securely and lawfully.

A cash Prize will be treated as fulfilled only after the applicable payment has actually been made.

33. Master Furry Product Prizes

Where the Prize is a Master Furry product, the product will be identified in the published Prize structure.

A product Prize is not automatically exchangeable for cash unless a cash alternative is expressly offered or applicable law requires otherwise.

If a published product becomes genuinely unavailable, Master Furry may provide a reasonable equivalent of comparable nature and value where legally appropriate.

34. One Participant & Multiple Attempts

Permitted Re-Entry may create several historical attempts for the same participant.

Unless the specific Tournament expressly provides otherwise, one participant may receive only one placement Prize from the same Tournament.

Historical eliminated or superseded attempts remain preserved.

35. Prize Taxes

Participants are responsible for determining whether receipt of a Prize creates any tax, declaration or reporting obligation in their jurisdiction.

Master Furry does not provide personal tax advice.

Where Master Furry is legally required to report, withhold or collect information relating to a Prize, it may do so.

36. Fair Play

All participants must compete fairly and must not intentionally interfere with the proper operation of the Tournament.

Prohibited conduct includes:

  • false identities;
  • unauthorised multiple accounts;
  • account sharing;
  • account selling;
  • impersonation;
  • collusion;
  • coordinated manipulation;
  • attempting to alter simulated balances;
  • attempting to alter rankings;
  • attempting to alter trade records;
  • fraudulent payment activity;
  • circumventing security controls;
  • circumventing platform rate limits;
  • tampering with server requests;
  • unauthorised access to Master Furry infrastructure;
  • deliberately exploiting software vulnerabilities;
  • attempting to obtain a Prize through deception.

37. Automation & Abusive Technical Activity

Participants must use the Tournament platform in accordance with its intended functionality.

Unauthorised bots, scripts, request flooding, API abuse, scraping designed to interfere with the competition, security bypasses or other abusive automated activity are prohibited.

Normal browser functionality and functionality expressly provided or authorised by Master Furry are not prohibited merely because software is involved.

38. Software Bugs & Exploits

A participant must not knowingly exploit an obvious software bug, duplicate execution, incorrect balance, stale-data condition, security vulnerability or other manifest platform defect.

Discovering an error does not give a participant a right to use that error to manipulate their Tournament Account or ranking.

39. Manifest Errors

Where reliable server records establish that a genuine and material technical or market-data error affected a simulated transaction or ranking, Master Furry may take proportionate action to restore the intended competition state.

This may include:

  • correcting an invalid simulated trade;
  • removing a duplicated simulated execution;
  • correcting an erroneous balance;
  • recalculating an affected ranking.

This provision does not permit Master Furry to change valid results simply because they are unfavourable to Master Furry or another participant.

40. Disqualification

Master Furry may disqualify a participant where there is reasonable evidence of:

  • material breach of these Rules;
  • ineligibility;
  • fraud;
  • collusion;
  • account manipulation;
  • payment fraud;
  • deliberate exploitation of a material technical defect;
  • serious interference with Tournament infrastructure;
  • other serious conduct compromising competition integrity.

Master Furry will not disqualify a participant merely because that participant trades successfully or achieves a high ranking.

41. Audit & Competition Records

Master Furry may maintain server-side audit records relating to Tournament administration.

Records may include:

  • Entries and Re-Entries;
  • simulated orders;
  • account status;
  • payment status;
  • rule acceptance;
  • administrative actions;
  • Prize status;
  • relevant security events.

These records may be used for competition administration, security, fraud prevention, complaints and dispute resolution.

42. Market-Data Interruptions

Market data can occasionally be interrupted, delayed or temporarily unavailable.

If reliable market data is unavailable, affected instruments or simulated trading functionality may be temporarily suspended.

Master Furry will not intentionally invent fictitious prices simply to make a market appear available.

43. Platform Availability

Master Furry aims to maintain reliable Tournament availability but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Possible interruptions include:

  • Internet failures;
  • hosting outages;
  • market-data outages;
  • third-party infrastructure failures;
  • maintenance;
  • browser or device issues;
  • cybersecurity incidents;
  • events outside Master Furry’s reasonable control.

44. Participant Internet or Device Failure

Participants are responsible for maintaining suitable Internet access, browser functionality and equipment.

A participant’s individual Internet disconnection, device failure or browser problem does not ordinarily require the Tournament to be suspended for all other participants.

45. Exceptional Events

Master Furry will not cancel or materially alter a Tournament merely because its outcome becomes commercially inconvenient.

However, a Tournament may need to be suspended, postponed, cancelled or otherwise administered differently where an exceptional circumstance makes fair or lawful continuation impossible.

Examples include:

  • serious platform-wide technical failure;
  • extended essential market-data failure;
  • material cybersecurity compromise;
  • payment-system failure materially affecting competition integrity;
  • legal or regulatory intervention;
  • force majeure;
  • another event outside reasonable control that makes fair continuation impossible.

Master Furry will seek to act reasonably and consistently when dealing with affected participants.

46. Closing Dates & Material Competition Dates

Where a Tournament has a defined Entry closing date, start date, end date or other material deadline, that information will be displayed as part of the relevant Tournament information.

Material dates should not ordinarily be changed after participants have entered.

Where an unavoidable circumstance outside reasonable control makes a change genuinely necessary, Master Furry will seek to avoid unfairly disadvantaging existing participants and will communicate the change appropriately.

47. Cancellation & Refunds

Refund entitlement depends upon the circumstances, the stage of the Tournament, the service already supplied and applicable law.

Nothing in these Rules removes a statutory consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

A refund is not automatically due merely because a participant:

  • makes losing simulated trades;
  • is eliminated under the published rules;
  • finishes outside a Prize position;
  • is overtaken by another participant;
  • does not achieve their expected simulated result.

If Master Furry cancels a paid Tournament in circumstances where participants are legally entitled to reimbursement, qualifying payments will be handled accordingly.

48. Payment Disputes & Chargebacks

Participants who believe that a payment has been processed incorrectly should contact Master Furry so the transaction can be investigated.

Fraudulent chargebacks, stolen payment methods or deliberate payment manipulation may result in account restriction, disqualification or investigation.

A participant will not be penalised merely for exercising a genuine statutory or contractual right to dispute a payment.

49. No Financial Advice

Nothing provided through the Tournament constitutes personalised financial or investment advice.

Tournament charts, market data, analytics, simulated trades, leaderboards, rankings and statistics are provided for competition, informational, educational and technological purposes.

Master Furry does not recommend that a participant reproduce a Tournament trade using real money.

50. Trading Risk Disclosure

Real-world trading can involve substantial financial risk and can result in loss of capital.

The Tournament itself uses Virtual Funds, but participants should not interpret successful simulated performance as proof that real-money trading will be profitable.

Anyone choosing separately to trade real money does so outside the Tournament and is responsible for understanding the risks and obtaining professional advice where appropriate.

51. Simulated Trading Differs From Live Trading

Simulation cannot reproduce every characteristic of live trading.

Differences may include:

  • liquidity;
  • slippage;
  • broker spreads;
  • commissions;
  • financing charges;
  • market impact;
  • execution restrictions;
  • order rejection;
  • latency;
  • the psychological effect of risking real capital.

Tournament performance is therefore not a guarantee or reliable prediction of future real-money trading results.

52. No Guarantee

Master Furry does not guarantee:

  • simulated profit;
  • a positive Tournament return;
  • a particular ranking;
  • a Prize;
  • future real-money profitability;
  • continuous access to every market;
  • that a participant’s preferred instrument will always be available.

53. Participant Responsibilities

Participants are responsible for:

  • reading these Rules before Entry;
  • understanding that Tournament capital is virtual;
  • reviewing Tournament information before payment;
  • checking orders before submission;
  • monitoring their simulated account;
  • protecting account credentials;
  • complying with fair-play requirements;
  • ensuring participation is lawful where they live;
  • providing accurate information for Prize verification.

54. Tournament Personal Data

Master Furry may process personal information reasonably necessary to operate and protect the Tournament.

This may include:

  • account identity;
  • contact information;
  • Entry and Re-Entry records;
  • payment status and transaction references;
  • rule-acceptance records;
  • Tournament Account information;
  • trade and ranking records;
  • Prize information;
  • support communications;
  • security and audit information;
  • IP-derived security records where reasonably necessary.

55. Purposes of Data Processing

Tournament information may be processed for:

  • creating and maintaining Tournament Accounts;
  • verifying Entry payments;
  • operating the competition;
  • calculating rankings;
  • preventing fraud and abuse;
  • enforcing the Rules;
  • investigating technical incidents;
  • administering Prizes;
  • handling complaints;
  • protecting platform security;
  • complying with applicable legal obligations.

Master Furry does not require participants to disclose passwords, API keys or other unrelated private credentials in order to participate.

56. Payment Information

Payment processing may involve an independent payment provider. Master Furry may receive payment status, transaction identifiers and information necessary to verify a Tournament purchase.

Participants should enter payment information only through the authorised payment interface presented during checkout.

57. Public Leaderboards & Results

Tournament participation may involve displaying a permitted public account identity together with competition information such as:

  • ranking;
  • simulated equity;
  • simulated profit/loss;
  • Tournament status;
  • final placement;
  • Prize result where applicable.

Private payment credentials and passwords are not intended to be published on Tournament leaderboards.

58. Data Retention

Tournament records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for competition administration, accounting, security, fraud prevention, complaints, legal obligations and establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

Information no longer reasonably required will be handled in accordance with applicable data-protection obligations.

59. Participant Data Rights

Where applicable under UK data-protection law, individuals may have rights concerning their personal information, including rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability, subject to the conditions and exemptions provided by law.

Requests concerning Tournament personal information may be sent to support@masterfurry.com.

60. Intellectual Property

The Master Furry Tournament platform, source code, interface, graphics, branding, databases, competition systems, documentation and associated materials are protected by applicable intellectual property rights.

Participation does not transfer ownership of Master Furry technology to a participant.

Participants must not unlawfully copy, reproduce, distribute, reverse engineer or exploit protected components of the platform.

61. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Rules excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.

Nothing is intended to exclude or restrict liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence where such liability cannot legally be excluded, or any other liability which applicable law requires to remain.

Subject to those protections, Master Furry will not be responsible for loss caused solely by circumstances outside its reasonable control where reasonable measures could not have prevented the relevant event.

62. No Exclusion of Statutory Consumer Rights

Nothing in these Rules is intended to remove, restrict or override a participant’s mandatory statutory rights.

Where applicable consumer law provides a participant with rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded, those rights and remedies continue to apply.

63. Changes to Tournament Rules

Material Tournament Rules should not ordinarily be changed after participants have entered.

Where an exceptional legal, technical, security or other unavoidable circumstance makes a change genuinely necessary, Master Furry will seek to:

  • act reasonably;
  • preserve competition fairness;
  • avoid unnecessary participant disadvantage;
  • communicate the material change appropriately;
  • retain an appropriate record of the applicable Rules.

64. Complaints & Tournament Reviews

A participant who believes a payment, simulated trade record, elimination, disqualification, ranking or Prize decision has been administered incorrectly may request a review.

The participant should provide enough information to identify the Tournament, their account and the matter being disputed.

Master Furry may review relevant server-authoritative records, including trade history, audit information, payment status and Rules acceptance.

Complaints should be sent to: support@masterfurry.com

65. Governing Law

These Tournament Rules are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory protections applicable to a consumer in their country of residence.

Nothing in this provision is intended to deprive a consumer of mandatory rights concerning access to courts or legal remedies where applicable law provides those rights.

66. Severability

If a provision of these Rules is held to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, it will be modified or severed only to the extent necessary.

The remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

67. No Waiver

A delay or failure by Master Furry to enforce a particular Rule in one instance does not automatically waive the right to enforce that Rule in another appropriate instance.

68. Tournament Information Displayed Before Entry

The applicable Tournament interface should provide the material information necessary for the participant to understand the specific competition before purchasing Entry.

This may include:

  • Entry price;
  • starting Virtual Funds;
  • minimum participant requirement;
  • maximum capacity;
  • duration or relevant competition dates;
  • Re-Entry availability and price;
  • maximum Re-Entries;
  • Prize structure;
  • important eligibility restrictions;
  • other material Tournament-specific conditions.

69. Rules Available Before Payment

Participants should be given an opportunity to review the Tournament Rules before completing a paid Entry or Re-Entry.

Where the platform requires an acceptance checkbox, payment cannot be used to bypass the required acceptance.
